Regional office of Lyon

The Lyon regional office covers the same area as the Lyon interregional specialized court (JIRS), which includes the jurisdictions of the Chambéry, Grenoble, Lyon, and Riom appeal courts.

The office has three staff members: a head of judicial registry services (office chief), a senior clerk, and a lead investigator contact.

Under the jurisdiction of the specialized interregional courts, the regional branches have the following tasks:

  • to record, monitor, and enforce seizure and confiscation decisions in their geographic area (both stock and flow cases);
  • to assist investigators and judges in their area;
  • to train investigators, judges, and clerks in their area;
  • to participate in allocating movable property to investigative and judicial services;
  • to build innovative partnerships with courts and investigative services to enhance the system;
  • to send courts the annual statistics on seizures and confiscations so they can gauge their activity in this area.
